Materials Cost: A limited amount of copper is available free of charge. All silver and gem stones are to be bought by students (we are happy to advise!
This course is designed for beginners to intermediate students, you will learn a range of skills including drawing out your design, piercing, filing, soldering, finishing your jewellery to a high finish. Once you have gained confidence in using the tools you will have the opportunity to make your own designs and continue to learn new skills within future courses at file and forge.
Absolute Beginners
We will teach you how to make a copper ring from sheet, you will learn to solder, polish and form. Moving on to piercing ( cutting outing with a saw) a pattern and making a ring. Guidance will be given if you want to make in silver
Intermediate
This is much more student lead, we will help you develop your designs using a number of different techniques. Whether it is forging, fold forming, repousse you will never be a lose to learn a new challenging technique or refreshing an old skill
