Materials costs. a limited amount of copper is available free of charge. All silver and gem stones are to be bought by students (we are happy to advise!)
This course is designed for students of all levels whether you are a beginner or want to brush up on some old skills or just gain more experience.
During this 4 week course you will learn how to make jewellery from a ring to a pendant. Techniques you will learn will include soldering, sawing, filing, polishing, surface decoration and finishing.
We are always happy to help students create there own designs so don't be afraid to ask for advise. Students with experience are always welcome to come and develop their skills or learn new techniques in any of our classes.
Absolute Beginners
We will teach you how to make a copper ring from sheet, you will learn to solder, polish and form. Moving on to piercing ( cutting outing with a saw) a pattern and making a ring. Guidance will be given if you want to make in silver
Intermediate
This is much more student lead, we will help you develop your designs using a number of different techniques. Whether it is forging, fold forming, repousse you will never be a lose to learn a new challenging technique or refreshing an old skill
